Progress Week 13

Life is slowly becoming more ‘normal’ and I am looking again at my goals for the year.

This month I’ve managed my random act of kindness – I sent a soft toy for a child in Queensland and I delivered some special crafting books to a special friend who needed some love.

I didn’t do the anonymous cake delivery but I did do a super-duper baking collection for someone who needed some cherishing.

Meal made and delivered – Pork and Peanut Laksa.

Book read- The Amazing 5 year old.

I have April’s random act of kindness giveaway up on my blog – posted yesterday. Go on enter – make me feel popular!

I’ve been keeping up with making something every week but the family nights have taken a dive. We did get back into them last week and tonight I have some ‘proper’ plans for one.

I’m pretty pleased with my cooking efforts of late. Last week I made a couple of new dinner recipes and this week I’ve made 3 new recipes in one week – which is pretty good for me.

Spinach and Ricotta Calzone

On another totally unrelated topic our computer has been demonstrating what we refer to as ‘the blue screen of doom’. Then later when you re-start it you get that screen of computer typing and an invitation later on to send an error report. The thing is I see my computer largely the way I see my car – purely functional. I don’t care HOW either of them work, I have no desire to UNDERSTAND how they work and I’m not reading the manual or sending an error report. This is another reason for having the wonderful and long-suffering Atlas in my life. I rant – he solves. This is the balance.

Exercise has also been caught up somewhere in the ‘red zone’ in the city. No, my gym isn’t in there but my excercise motivation snuck past the cordon at some point and they won’t let it back out – shame about that.

The Atlas has been in the real ‘red zone’ today for his job.

He said it is pretty sobering.

I think the images prove that. The ones on here are just 2 that stuck out to me because of the mannequins in them. I will probably post some more in the weekend.

How are your goals going for the year? Pop over to Cate – check out some of her incredible photography and see what others are up to.

Progress Week 6

This week has been better for me.

Nearly everything has a home now and that makes a huge difference to my mental happiness.

Bedroom for Bounce

I finally cleaned out Bounce’s room, which he will share with Flip in due course. It’s huge and it’s been full of stuff. Now it is ordered. So much happier.

Not so much happier with the wallpaper stripping that occurred when someone went into a BIG boy bed.

Time for a Big Bed

He took some convincing but now he is in there he’s doing well.

Little Monkey in a Big Bed

We’ve still got to the art up. Patience.

This month so far I’ve read my book – My Life in France by Julia Child

Made a meal for some friends who have a delicious new baby

Sent a big parcel of fabric scraps to a ‘stranger’ whose blog I read (don’t think it will have arrived yet) and I’m doing a giveaway this week if you’d like to enter.

Tonight for faith and family we are talking about blessing people and we’ll do the cake mission then. Photos tomorrow I hope.

This month is going to get very busy for me in the next week or so. Consequently I am trying to keep ahead of what I can keep ahead of.

Linking in with Cate and others who are working on keeping to their goals.

Everybody Needs Good Neighbours

43/100 complete

Snuggling with Daddy

I must admit I would like to know all our neighbours a bit better but we really do live with lovely people around us. As you may recall I dropped some baking over to the neighbours recently and left it there with their post which I had been collecting.

Yesterday they showed up on our doorstep with chocolates and a card. Yay!

Thanks

This weekend I haven’t been well but I have been grateful. Grateful that I have been unwell on the weekend when No.1 man is home and grateful for a comfortable bed. Unfortunately it means I missed out on 2 social engagements. This is not good when you are at the extreme end of the extrovert scale (although I’d still like to think in a nice and friendly way!). It probably meant everyone else got a word in edgewise though…

Today I have enjoyed watching Master one and a balloon.

Bounce

Last night while I was in quarantine I managed to complete my ‘Bucket List’ – Challenge 62. I actually found this quite tricky I think it might be because: a) I am kind of lazy and I don’t want to think of too many things that might require some effort, b) I’m a bit of a chicken so I have no desire to throw myself out of a plane, bungy jump, or get a tattoo OR possibly it’s c) I am supremely happy with how my life is and I struggle to think of things that would make it more ‘complete’. If I’m honest I’d say it’s a combination. However, I did come up with 25 things so I have some things to aim towards (or at least think about).

My 'Bucket List'

I also have a very exciting plan in my mind for another challenge I want to complete. I daren’t say any more (I love that phrase) in case some people involved are my readers!

This afternoon I have loved this view. We’re pretty much a no TV kind of family but on Sunday afternoons it is DVD and Daddy time. I love them all snuggled together under a home-made quilt. My lovely boys.
