A is for Advent

I love Christmas and all it means and I am trying to build a sense of tradition and ritual into the month of December for the boys and for me too.

This year church has made these gorgeous Advent alphabets and Master 4 is really ready for them so we are going to work our way through the alphabet as we prepare for Christmas.

Our Alphabet Advent

Yesterday we started with my tradition of giving the boys a Christmas book on the 1st of December. This way we build up a collection for reading each year.

For the 1st of December

I bought this gorgeous book ‘How Many Miles to Bethlehem’ for $7 from a bookshop in town yesterday.

New Book

The illustrations and text are beautiful.

Today is B for Bells which we had some fun with at dinner time and reading Psalm 150.

We enjoyed singing carols and shaking our bells.

Our Bells

And cheering each other on.

Ready to Sing

Loving It

I am going to try to post about our Advent (which means ‘coming’) and hopefully you might be inspired to join in on your own adventure of preparing your heart and family for Christmas day too.
